I'm going to take 3 or 4 this summer. Most likely Marketing, management, psych, American hist. and literature. Marketing and management are a definite, the other three are just options at this point.

Thankfully, I've passed all the CLAP exams I've taken.

Which did you take, and were they that difficult?

Don't be in a hurry to finish college!!!! Take your time, 6-8 years if you can! After 25 years I still miss it....

I don't like my experience and I just want out. College isn't what it used to be, so I'm told. Yes, I have fun, but I picked the wrong college and it's way to expensive.

Transfer to a cheap public University. That is where the real fun is.

If you did reasonably well in high school, the CLEP general exams shouldn't give you too much trouble. You go in, take them one after the other (there are five), and Bob's your uncle, you're a sophomore. I think University of Maryland (European campus) took four out of the five.
Yeah, I'm kind of assuming you're in the Armed Forces in some capacity. Lots of servicemembers take these tests, which are offered for free at education centers, or at least, they were offered to me for free back in the 1980s. Alas, that Army, the one depicted in movies like Stripes, doesn't exist anymore, so YMMV on cost. Still, it's the quickest way I know to run up a whole bunch of promotion points in a single afternoon.
My wife took a bunch of CLEP tests herself to get her bachelor's degree from Excelsior College ( www.excelsior.edu ), which would have taken all of the CLEP general exams I mentioned earlier. Basically, she would get a textbook from eBay or someplace for next to no money, read it, do the exercises, and then go take the test. I give this approach to education my wholehearted endorsement. For one thing, you don't have any sadistic professors or their mind games to deal with. You either know the material or you don't. And it beats the hell out of paying one of these for-profit "schools" for basically the same thing.

It is a public school, sort of.

I'm already in college, just getting out in three years.

Agreed, I took a couple of CLEPs many years ago and this was my experience as well. I did well in high school, and I had no trouble at all with the CLEP tests.
I definitely agree with your last paragraph there, too. No sense in paying through the nose for something you can do yourself.

Thanks, I just can't justify the cost of college. Went to CC this semester to take my pointless classes, and next year should be my last year.

Most of the usual gonorrhea tests. It was the glass rod up the urethra that was the most difficult.

Before I went off to college I took every single CLEP that I had any knowlege of. The only ones I didn't take were the languages I didn't know, the ancient civilization ones, and some of the business ones. I passed all of them without studying including stuff like the 'early childhood education' or whatever it was called without having any prior education in it. Sadly, for me to get the credit hours at my university I had to take an upperlevel class in the subject matter so some of them went to waste. Totally worth it, knocked more than a year off school and the exams were only like 30 bucks a piece at the time.

Take all that you think you might be close to passing. I took Calculus, Western Civ I and II, US History I and II, and French and German Level 1. I ended up with 15 credits plus 4 from CC I took during High School. Assuming you're going to HCC, I understand your desire to get it all over with.

You mentioned you lived in the area in another post so I put it together myself. I haven't been to even visit in 7 years and I don't regret it at all.
